Teaching Assistant - SEND Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at The Mews school in Wem, Shropshire. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Help with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery.
  • Monitor and record student progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure effective student support.

Requirements:

  • Passion for working with young people and a commitment to making a positive impact.
  • Ability to work with students who have experienced trauma and require a sensitive and understanding approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
