About the Job

Penguin Recruitment is seeking an experienced Town Planner to join a housebuilding company. As a Strategic Planner, you will work closely with the Senior Strategic Planning Manager to develop and implement planning strategies for the company's current and future portfolio sites.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. ">
  2. Develop and implement planning strategies for portfolio sites in collaboration with the Senior Strategic Planning Manager.">
  3. Lead the preparation and submission of planning applications for strategic land sites.">
  4. Promote land through the Local Plan process and manage site promotion strategies.">
  5. Coordinate with stakeholders (local authorities, consultants, landowners) to move planning applications forward.">
  6. Conduct research and provide analysis to support the strategic land planning process.">
  7. Travel for site visits and attend meetings across the north of England and southern Scotland as required.">

Requirements

  • ">
  • A degree accredited by the RTPI (or equivalent) in planning or a related field within the built environment.">
  • At least 2 years of planning experience in housing (within housebuilding, consultancy, land promotion, or local authority).">
  • Strong problem-solving, research, and analytical skills.">
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a positive, can-do attitude.">
  • Willingness to travel to various sites across the north of England and southern Scotland.">
  • RTPI accreditation is desirable, with mentoring available to support the APC process.">

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including professional development opportunities, a supportive team environment, and flexible working arrangements.
