Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a welcoming primary school in Great Yarmouth.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to a Reception class, working closely with teachers and school staff. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored support to a Reception class, focusing on a pupil with autism and diabetes.
  • Assisting with specialised care needs, including monitoring blood glucose levels, calculating carbohydrate intake, and administering insulin injections with observer.
  • Collaborating with staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Supporting with classroom activities and promoting social, emotional, and educational development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar child-support role is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of diabetes management (training will be provided).
  • Basic understanding of autism and experience in supporting young children with SEN.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, with strong communication skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine interest in the welfare and development of young children.
