Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. As a Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry, you will be responsible for the overall psychiatric care of an inpatient population within the medium secure services.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide medical leadership and assessment & management for inpatients and the wider responsibilities of the forensic service locally, including prisons and community forensic mental health teams.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and services.
• Develop and implement sustainable specialist forensic services for the population of North Wales.

Requirements

• Be on the Specialist Register, have CCT or recognised equivalent, or be within 6 months of obtaining it at the time of interview.
• Have evidence of training in the core and specialist competencies relevant for forensic psychiatry.
• Demonstrate leadership skills, ability to work under pressure, and good communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal.
