Principal Production Engineer

Rheinmetall Electronics UK (REUK) Ltd is a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced electronics products and systems.
We are expanding our Product Development Team and are seeking a highly skilled Principal Production Engineer to join our team.
This role will involve bridging the Engineering, Production, and Quality departments to ensure efficient and consistent processes for transferring new product designs into volume production.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the production team to solve issues as they arise.
- Managing and prioritising engineering-related production issues.
- Introducing engineering changes and product improvements into manufacturing.
- Leading the generation of production assembly and test documentation.
- Supporting the development and roll-out of custom production tooling and test equipment.
- Developing and improving product configuration and test processes for volume manufacture.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working in an electronic manufacturing environment.
- A good understanding of configuration control principles.
- Previous experience of using software tools to track issues.
- Some understanding of electronics fundamentals and/or mechanical packaging for electronic solutions.
- Ideal experience of using continuous improvement methods to optimise development/production handovers.
