Production Engineer Apprentice

The Role:
As a Production Engineer Apprentice, you will be responsible for implementing production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements through project-based activities. Your tasks will include new product introduction, manufacturing cell design, and waste reduction. You will work on various phases of projects, impacting project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify manufacturing needs for new products in development.
- Design new systems and processes to integrate new products or improve existing ones.
- Ensure product and system requirements are met from conception to completion.
- Generate production documentation, such as assembly instructions.
- Ensure product and process quality meets specifications.
- Support the tender process for equipment to ensure best quality and price.
- Oversee installation of machinery and equipment.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Remove waste from processes.
Requirements:
- Ideal candidate holds an Engineering-related qualification (BEng, HND, HNC, etc).
- At least 5 years' experience in manufacturing or shop floor background is desirable.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques is required.
- Sound IT skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications.
