The Role:


As a Production Engineer Apprentice, you will be responsible for implementing production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements through project-based activities. Your tasks will include new product introduction, manufacturing cell design, and waste reduction. You will work on various phases of projects, impacting project completion.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Identify manufacturing needs for new products in development.
  2. Design new systems and processes to integrate new products or improve existing ones.
  3. Ensure product and system requirements are met from conception to completion.
  4. Generate production documentation, such as assembly instructions.
  5. Ensure product and process quality meets specifications.
  6. Support the tender process for equipment to ensure best quality and price.
  7. Oversee installation of machinery and equipment.
  8. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  9. Remove waste from processes.

Requirements:


  1. Ideal candidate holds an Engineering-related qualification (BEng, HND, HNC, etc).
  2. At least 5 years' experience in manufacturing or shop floor background is desirable.
  3. Experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques is required.
  4. Sound IT skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications.
