Job Overview

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country, providing a wide range of general and specialist clinical services. We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge - Surgical Emergency to lead our clinical pharmacy services in the Surgical Emergency Unit.

The role involves providing a safe, effective, and efficient clinical pharmacy service to the unit, which sees 15,000 patients per year. You will be responsible for supporting and deputising for the Divisional Lead Pharmacist, as well as developing and implementing strategies to improve the quality of pharmaceutical care for patients.

You will work closely with clinical and managerial staff in the surgical directorate to establish and further develop key clinical pharmacy skills for managing patients in the Surgical Emergency Unit. Your duties will also include providing a near patient dispensing service for the unit ward, developing good working relationships with staff, and being involved in the strategic development of the clinical pharmacy service.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent, registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council, and postgraduate qualifications in clinical pharmacy. Leadership qualification or training is also desirable, as is experience with Cerner Millenium and Ulysses incident reporting.
