Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at one of the UK's largest steel processing companies. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our factory by performing proactive and reactive mechanical maintenance on all machinery.

The Role:
  • Carry out hydraulic system maintenance and repairs
  • Work on pneumatic systems, including installation and troubleshooting
  • Conduct general welding and fabrication tasks
  • Operate oxygen and acetylene burning equipment
  • Perform bench fitting and repair work
  • Operate forklifts, cherry pickers, and overhead cranes
  • Basic electrical fault finding and repair
The Person:
  • Hold a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer qualification or equivalent
  • Have a strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Be willing to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
