About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English teacher to join our team at Meadows School. As a Lead English Teacher, you will be responsible for leading the English department and developing a curriculum that meets the needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a differentiated English curriculum for students with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Speech and Language difficulties, and associated learning difficulties.
  • Lead a team of English teachers to deliver high-quality lessons and assessments.
  • Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement a whole-school approach to English education.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and effective curriculum.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of teaching English in a special school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment criteria.
  • Ability to work with students who have complex needs and challenging behaviors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
