We are seeking a highly skilled Electromagnetic Design Specialist to join our team at Physics World. Located between Reading and Basingstoke, this role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer or applied physicist with experience in electromagnetics, electrostatics, or high voltage breakdown. As a member of our Electromagnetics and Radio Frequency team, you will contribute to the production of technical documentation, support project management, and develop novel techniques to solve problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop high-quality technical documentation, including test plans, reports, and procedures.
  • Support project and task management in scoping, planning, and estimating future activities.
  • Organize personal training and development under the guidance of a professional mentor.
  • Take the lead on developing or requiring novel tests and capabilities in support of validation and verification activities.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Applied Physics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and engineering applications (3D CAD, Circuit Design and Simulation, Programming).
  • Experience teaching/training others.
  • Post-graduate qualification or research in a relevant subject area.
