Our client, a family-owned company in the West Midlands, is seeking an EC & I Engineer to join their Controls and Automation team. This is a permanent position that requires expertise in managing the full life-cycle of chemical plant instrumentation projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the conceptualisation, design, installation, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems, including PLC controllers, safety instrumented systems, and intrinsic safety.
- Oversee the modification of plant instrumentation systems through a management of change process, ensuring compliance with functional safety standards IEC61508 & IEC61511.
- Develop and maintain instrumentation drawings using AutoCAD or similar software, and ensure familiarity with all types of instrumentation documents.
- Maintain records of all instrumentation items, including modifications, repairs, and specifications.
- Work within regulated industries such as Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, or Food, with a good understanding of DSEAR/ATEX compliance.
- Manage control and safety systems, adhering to HSE guidelines and performing proof tests.
- Comply with HSE requirements and maintain knowledge of Planned Preventive Maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance.
This role requires a strong understanding of instrumentation and control systems, as well as excellent project management skills. If you have experience in managing complex projects and a passion for delivering high-quality results, we encourage you to apply.
