About the Job

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Occupational Therapist to lead our service in Tameside. The successful candidate will be responsible for the recruitment and management of a new therapy team, working closely with the Service Manager to deliver high-quality care to older people.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and manage the Occupational Therapy service within the Mental Health Service for Older People (MHSOP), ensuring compliance with Trust standards and regulations.
  2. Work in partnership with operational, team, and ward managers to support and develop the Occupational Therapy workforce.
  3. Recruit, manage, and supervise a team of Occupational Therapists, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.
  4. Lead on the planning, development, and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service, conducting clinical audits and research to demonstrate its effectiveness.
  5. Communicate effectively with multiple agencies and professionals to ensure the delivery of coordinated and client-centered care.
  6. Provide leadership and support to Occupational Therapists, ensuring they have the necessary resources and expertise to deliver high-quality care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) or equivalent Occupational Therapy qualification.
  • Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration.
  • Accredited fieldwork educator.
  • Evidence of relevant postgraduate courses or continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Clinical supervision training.
  • Post-registration study equivalent to master's level.
