Job Description

Your role as a Manufacturing Engineer will involve working as part of a wider team in the Defence & Aerospace sector to provide information to the shop floor to enable efficient manufacturing of component parts. Understanding the use of CAD is essential in this role, as is a good understanding of the processes involved in kitting and manufacturing components.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice engineering.
  2. Develop and maintain manufacturing works instructions and visual aids.
  3. Interrogate customer drawings and CAD data to produce ply templates, foam kits, and other manufacturing aids.
  4. Design and implement innovative manufacturing solutions.
  5. Anticipate and overcome manufacturing challenges.
  6. Manage configuration control on projects.
  7. Design and develop mould tools, assembly fixtures, and manufacturing aids.
  8. Assist with cost estimation on new projects.
  9. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, Quality and Environmental standards, and Company policies.
Requirements:
  1. Strong understanding of industry best practice of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  2. Strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD.
  3. Lean Manufacturing techniques.
