Job Purpose Statement:


To lead and manage the Internal Sales Team to achieve Sales and Gross Profit targets; to assist the Sales Administration and Profit Centre Manager to support the business needs to achieve annual forecast.

 

Key Responsibilities


Leadership and Team Management

Lead the Internal Sales Team with line management responsibility for 3 colleagues. Manage, mentor, train and develop a high-performing team in the sales office. Be an example of best practice and motivate the team to achieve more.


Account Management and Sales Strategy

Work with the Profit Centre Manager, External Sales and Internal Sales Team to agree key and target accounts within defined territories. Agree targets for individual customer accounts, for each of the Internal Sales Team and for the team as a whole.


Performance Monitoring and Reporting

Report daily / monthly / YTD sales & GP figures vs. agreed targets.


Sales Growth and Development

Work with your team, External Sales and Profit Centre Manager to increase sales and GP within existing accounts. Be a driving force in ensuring the Profit Centre achieves annual forecast for sales and GP.


Individual Performance and Productivity

Set and monitor individual performance targets for you and your team. Collate and report productivity stats for the business.


Communication and Collaboration

To hold regular meetings with the Internal Sales Team to discuss sales, profitability, opportunities and improvements across the business.


Customer Service and Sales Administration

Develop and manage a pro-active call-out programme, for the internal sales team, whilst taking personal responsibility for a defined customer base.


Manage the sales inbox to ensure customer enquiries and orders are picked up by the relevant team member and actioned promptly.


Ensure any sales administration tasks are completed to comply with the Company's Standard Practice Instructions (SPI's).


Liaison and Partnerships

Working with Administration and Operations to ensure action is taken on slow-moving or obsolete products.


Liaise with key suppliers to capitalise on sales opportunities, satisfy customer needs and consolidate sales. Periodically organise product training.


Process Improvement and Efficiency

Improve accuracy of orders placed to reduce credits. Assist Sales Administration in settling any customer claims for credit promptly.


To be the main point of contact for Credit Control, understand their requirements and liaise with them regularly to avoid payment issues.


Manage holidays, absences, events etc. to ensure an adequate level of resource within the team.


Consistently drive process improvements to ensure the Profit Centre operates as smoothly and efficiently as possible. To carry out any other reasonable tasks which may become necessary.
