Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sonography Specialist to join our Women's Health Unit at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality ultrasound services to patients, including obstetric and gynecological scans.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sonographer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of excellent patient care. You will work closely with midwives, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to provide personalized care to patients undergoing ultrasound examinations.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Conducting ultrasound examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and guidelines;
  • Reporting on ultrasound findings accurately and professionally;
  • Maintaining a high level of technical expertise and staying up-to-date with latest developments in ultrasound technology;
  • Supervising the general welfare of patients while in the department;
  • Assisting with research and audits in the unit;
  • Maintaining accurate and clear records, ensuring all signatures are legible;
  • Demonstrating awareness of individual team members' needs and providing support and guidance where necessary.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A diploma in Medical USS (or UK equivalent);
  • Registration with the UK statutory body for sonographers;
  • Knowledge and experience in obs & gynae USS;
  • Good leadership skills, commitment to self-development, and a willingness to mentor junior staff.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £45,009-£81,258 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme, annual leave, and training opportunities.
