Job Title: Senior Project Engineering ManagerWe are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineering Manager to join our team on a major project located in Warrington.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the coordination, implementation, and performance of engineering activities for assigned projects, ensuring timely completion and quality deliverables.
- Maintain close working relationships with Project Managers and Engineering teams to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication.
- Assist in establishing and implementing project manpower needs and coordinating technical activities among disciplines to ensure efficient project execution.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and licensing requirements, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure technically sound, safe, and operable plants with high reliability.
- Prepare and issue Engineering Execution Plans, incorporating customer requirements, procedures, and standards.
- Compile lists from each discipline to develop a master document list for the project, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Work with project stakeholders to develop subcontract and work package descriptions consistent with the contracting plan.
- Coordinate development of work-hour estimates and transfer information to Project Controls for preparation of engineering cost estimates.
- Collaborate with other departments in the company participating in the project to ensure effective project execution.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings between Project Engineering, the customer, and other outside groups to ensure timely progress and resolution of issues.
- Keep project stakeholders informed of project progress, performance, and manpower utilization, highlighting delays, adverse trends, errors, and omissions.
- Ensure proper documentation of meetings, agreements, conversations, etc. that affect the conduct of the project.
- Coordinate the customer's engineering comments, approvals, and requests with the functional activities of all disciplines.
- Encourage and assist in the technical and managerial development of subordinates, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
- Coordinate Independent Engineering Design Reviews by discipline engineering management to ensure quality and compliance.
- Review engineering performance on the project to ensure quality, conformance with conceptual design, and completeness of engineering tasks.
- Promptly review Design Change Notices (DCN), identify change order candidates, segregate cost collection, and assist the Project Manager in pertinent aspects of change order management.
- Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
- Ideal candidate holds a degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Ideal candidate is Chartered or working towards it.
- Candidate has held a similar engineering management position.
- Candidate has proven experience within a highly regulated construction sector (including commissioning).
- Candidate has knowledge of safety case justification.
- Candidate has a sound understanding of building regulations and planning submissions of CDM regulations.
- Candidate currently holds SC or is prepared to go through the SC process.
