Amentum is a leading global technical and engineering services partner. We are now recruiting for a Senior Project Engineering Manager to join our team on a major project located in the UK.

Role Overview

The Senior Project Engineering Manager is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and performance of engineering activities for an assigned project. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining a close working relationship with Project Managers and Engineering teams.
  2. Assisting with the establishment and implementation of project manpower needs and coordinating technical activities among disciplines.
  3. Ensuring compliance with all statutory and licensing requirements.
  4. Conducting the design of a technically sound, safe, and operable plant with a high degree of reliability.
  5. Preparing and issuing Engineering Execution Plans and ensuring that all necessary and appropriate customer requirements, procedures, and standards are incorporated.
  6. Compiling lists from each discipline to develop a master document list for the project.
  7. Working with project stakeholders to develop subcontract and work package descriptions that are consistent with the contracting plan for the project.
  8. Coordinating the development of work-hour estimates and transferring information to Project Controls for preparation of engineering cost estimate.
  9. Cooperating with other departments in the company participating on the project.
  10. Scheduling and coordinating meetings between Project Engineering, the customer, and other outside groups.
  11. Keeping project stakeholders advised of project progress, performance, and manpower utilization with attention to delays, adverse trends, errors, and omissions.
  12. Assuring proper documentation of meetings, agreements, conversations, etc., that affect the conduct of the project.
  13. Coordinating the customers' engineering comments, approvals, and requests with the functional activities of all disciplines.
  14. Encouraging and assisting in the technical and managerial development of subordinates.
  15. Coordinating Independent Engineering Design Reviews by discipline engineering management.
  16. Reviewing engineering performance on the project to ensure quality, conformance with conceptual design, and completeness of engineering tasks.
  17. Promptly reviewing Design Change Notices (DCN), identifying change order candidates, segregating cost collection, and assisting the Project Manager in pertinent aspects of change order management.
  18. Performing all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications and Experience

Ideally, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  1. Hold a degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  2. Be Chartered or working towards Chartered status.
  3. Have held a similar engineering management position.
  4. Possess proven experience within a highly regulated construction sector (including commissioning).
  5. Have knowledge of safety case justification.
  6. Have a sound understanding of building regulations and planning submissions of CDM regulations.
  7. Currently hold SC or be prepared to go through the SC process.
