About the Job

We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Policy Development Officer to join our Strategy & Development Team at Cardiff Council.

The successful candidate will develop, maintain, and manage the delivery of well-being policy for Ardal Councils, focusing on circular procurement, carbon reduction, fair work, and foundational economy procurement.

  1. Main Responsibilities:
  2. Develop and implement procurement well-being policy, including methodology, documentation, guidance, and training for Ardal Councils.
  3. Work with Category Teams to incorporate procurement well-being policy requirements into tender processes and monitor delivery and impact.
  4. Deliver education and training on procurement well-being policy to staff, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  5. Oversee the delivery of circular procurement and carbon reduction initiatives by working with contract managers, suppliers, contractors, category teams, and Council teams.
  6. Collaborate with the Senior Data Analyst to report on the delivery of circular procurement and carbon reduction commitments.
  7. Conduct research to support the development of procurement well-being policies and procedures.
  8. Lead the development of online resources, guidance, and training materials for procurement cycle implementation.
