The role is a high-profile position, where you will be responsible for managing end-to-end a process which carries a high degree of reputational, regulatory and compliance risk for custody.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a sanctions product strategy for the custody business, working closely with risk and compliance partners across our markets globally.
  • Design and build a sanctions operating model for the business, including the identification and implementation of key risk metrics, task automation, controls, operational processes, KPIs to show progress, and reduce Sanctions risk for Custody while minimising negative impact on clients.
  • Partner with settlements and other trade processing functions to incorporate sanctions screening consistently across the business.
  • Provide global custody product and operations teams with day-to-day support on sanction compliance matters relating to client on-boarding and maintenance (including implementations and processing rules), product and service launches, and client issue escalations/exits.
  • Utilize information from market developments, global regulatory changes, new regulations, and internal policy changes to further identify new key risk areas.
  • Contribute to market leadership and advocacy of market change in the industry, contributing to thought leadership and client management pieces.
Requirements:

  • Detailed understanding of the sanction's compliance function relating to global transaction processing.
  • Excellent communicator, written and oral, with the gravitas to manage and present to regulators and boards as well as senior business management.
  • Comfortable delivering results in a largely matrix role - influencing others without direct management oversight to deliver business results.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work closely with stakeholders in the business and particularly the In-Business Risk & Control team.
