Financial Controller Role Overview

We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead the financial accounting function at CHP, providing an effective and high-quality financial reporting service to the strategic and operational leadership teams. The Financial Controller will oversee regulatory reporting, financial controls, VAT and tax reporting, internal and external audit processes, rent and service charge setting, asset management, sales and purchase ledger, and daily banking and system transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Financial Accounting and Reporting team to create an effective accounting capability.
  • Improve and innovate financial accounting, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting directions and standards.
  • Deliver robust management accounting with the Finance Business Partner team.
  • Assess and control activities to ensure appropriate accounting compliance.
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Relevant CCAB, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive experience in accounting, including direct accounting practice, VAT and CIS reporting.
  • Significant experience of challenging and engaging senior stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in motivating, developing and leading teams.
  • Excellent strategic thinker with experience of delivering change.
