Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Description

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor at London Gatwick, you will play a key role in the Construction team, responsible for developing and maintaining cost plans and cost estimates for larger projects (typically greater than £100 million), working on complex projects from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing detailed budgets and cost estimates at various project stages, from initial concept to final construction, including internal costs.
  • Controlling project costs and preventing overruns by tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conducting accurate measurement, rate analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborating with project stakeholders to ensure projects are completed within budget and provide optimal value.
  • Administering contracts for design and construction contracts as they are awarded including change management.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a cost engineering, contract management or commercial role within the construction or infrastructure sectors working on projects typically over £5 million.
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering, construction, or business-related field.
  • Full working knowledge and understanding of using web-based contract management tools (e.g. Cemar).
  • Thorough understanding of NEC suite of contracts, and associated contract administration and negotiations.
