Operations Director

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our manufacturing site, overseeing all aspects of production, stock management, purchasing, health & safety, and facilities maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations and be able to develop and implement strategies to support the growth ambitions of our business.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage operational teams responsible for planning, scheduling, production management, and quality control.
- Develop and implement a long-term operations strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Maintain and improve KPIs for departmental performance, ensuring regular monitoring, challenging, and recovery where necessary.
- Work closely with department heads to challenge budgets, P&L, and overheads, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting implementation.
- Oversee CAPEX reviews, ensuring alignment with site, BU, and Group strategies.
- Manage OPEX and other financial constraints within budget.
- Monitor and control safety, quality, capacity, and cost throughout the production process from raw materials to finished goods.
- Maintain an up-to-date overview of plant maintenance, equipment life expectancy, and availability.
- Ensure effective stores and materials management.
- Foster collaboration with technical, engineering, customer services, SHEQ, despatch, materials management, and marketing teams to achieve shared objectives.
- Establish and sustain a continuous improvement culture, coaching team leaders and supervisors to use structured methods to increase efficiency and product quality.
Requirements:
- 10 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing or a related industry.
Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
