Royal Voluntary Service is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Activity Group Coordinator.

About the Role

This part-time, permanent position involves coordinating and facilitating activity groups for people living with dementia and their carers in a group setting. Groups will be delivered within South East Northumberland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organise and deliver stimulating activities for groups on a weekly basis, including chair-based exercise programmes.
  • Support the Service Manager in coordinating volunteers, including recruitment and training.
Requirements
  • A knowledge and experience of dementia (personal and/or professional)
  • Understanding of the benefits of group settings and activities for people living with dementia
  • Safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Good organisation and facilitation skills
  • A valid driving license and access to a vehicle with business insurance (mileage paid / reimbursed)
  • Experience of working with people living with dementia and/or their carers
  • Delivering activities within a group setting
  • Ability to proficiently use standard IT systems – Microsoft Office/Word/Excel, client database entry and management.
