Job Summary

The Mechanical Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing Aircraft Mechanical Production and Supervision within the Base and MRO environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and delivering airworthy aircraft and components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performance Indicators – Ensure effective management of Part 145 activities, setting delivery targets, monitoring progress, and developing performance improvement programs.
  • Completion of Activities – Ensure all Part 145 activities are documented, airworthiness records are maintained, and tasks are performed by suitably qualified personnel.
  • Procedure/Standards – Manage Part 145 team compliance with Part 145 Exposition, procedures, and standards, identifying and implementing changes as required.
  • Safety Management System – Promote Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management, and Safety Assurance within the Part 145 team.
  • Management System Assurance – Ensure Part 145 activities comply with the AM&S Governance and Assurance framework, responding to audit findings and implementing improvements.
  • Statutory / Regulatory & Legislative Requirements – Demonstrate understanding and application of Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework, ensuring compliance with ITAR, EaPW, ISO, and other requirements.
  • Contractual Requirements – Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, supporting contract reviews and implementing changes as necessary.

Deliverables

  • Maintain airworthiness by ensuring contracted maintenance is properly carried out, certifying serviceability, and issuing certifying documentation.
  • Hold Component Certification Privileges, ensuring robust adherence to Service Safety Hazard controls, and meeting delivery targets.
  • Apply analytical skills to evaluate and resolve operational problems, utilizing competent personnel and approved data.
  • Manage shift and resource plans, ensuring agreed delivery targets are accomplished within regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 5 years of practical experience and expertise in aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience within the aircraft maintenance environment, exercising certifying privileges at a supervisory level.
  • Demonstrate breadth of experience, currency, and recency via a Log Book capturing skills, knowledge, and authorities for working on Aircraft or in workshops.
  • Management training and IT literacy.
