Job Title: Heavy Duty Mechanical Technician - Somerset
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanical Technician to join our team in Somerset. As a key member of our Rail client, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing locomotives in accordance with approved maintenance plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, service, fault find and repair locomotives to ensure optimal performance and safety standards
- Ensure Asset Management system and relevant paperwork is completed on time and to company expectations
- Perform pre-use checks on tooling and equipment
- Participate in training and competency assessments as required
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of workshop husbandry
Requirements:
- Engineering qualification, preferably HNC standard in electrical or mechanical engineering
- At least 3 years experience in Traction & Rolling Stock maintenance, repair and fault finding (Desirable)
- Sound decision-making skills and basic communication skills
Estimated Salary: £45,500 per annum
