Commercial Expertise Required: Elsdon Group is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage costs, deal with subcontractors, and produce variation orders. This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, monitoring variations to the contract, providing expert advice on contractual claims, identifying and analyzing commercial risks, and managing post-contract cost variances and change control processes. Key responsibilities include conducting construction take-offs, preparing cost plans, tracking costs, and labor efficiency throughout the project, negotiating subcontractor and supplier contracts, preparing timely and accurate assessments/payment certificates/payless notices for sub-contractors, and submitting valuations and final accounts.

The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in MEP projects, have experience with NEC Contracts and industry standards, strong commercial knowledge, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in construction. The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
