This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in powered access engineering or a background in automotive mechanics, plant fitting, or similar fields who is eager to explore a new challenge.

As a Workshop Service Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of powered access equipment, ensuring they are always ready for customer use. Our machines include booms and scissor lifts, and comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success in this role.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Location Service Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the depot workshop.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) of machines at client sites and within the depot, adhering to manufacturer specifications, company policies, and relevant regulations. Report any defects or unsafe equipment to the appropriate manager.
  • Repair machines at the depot or on-site as needed, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and company policies.
  • Perform planned maintenance activities, including keeping the fleet in excellent condition according to corporate standards.
  • Deliver machines to customers and provide them with comprehensive training on safe machine operation, following company procedures.
  • Act as a company representative, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. Relay customer inquiries to relevant depot staff.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including engineer's reports, off-hire documents, pre/delivery inspection forms, and service sheets.
  • Update the system on machine status changes, such as completed PDIs, machines under repair, or 6-monthly statutory inspections.

About You:

  • Possess a relevant general engineering maintenance qualification, preferably at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Have experience in diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics, and diagnostic fault finding.
  • Demonstrate a mature outlook and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively while working under pressure.
  • Understand the importance of providing excellent customer service.
