About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced finance professional to join our team as a Finance Director. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our finance function and providing strategic financial guidance to support the growth and development of our organization.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial management, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. You will also have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of finance professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the finance function and provide strategic financial guidance to support the growth and development of the organization
  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets to achieve business objectives
  • Provide financial reporting and analysis to support business decision-making
  • Lead and manage a team of finance professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality financial services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and regulatory bodies
Requirements
  • ACCA (or equivalent) qualified or relevant experience to demonstrate good understanding of financial management within multi-academy trusts
  • Over five years' experience in a progressive finance leadership role
  • Extensive experience in budget management and forecasting delivering management and financial accounts gained in a 'hands-on' role
  • Experience of leading successful teams, preferably across multi-site organizations with a proven track record of making and implementing essential change
  • Detailed knowledge of public finances, procedures, practice, and regulations (preferably ESFA and sector requirements)
  • Experience of managing a computerized data system and handling large amounts of complex finance data
  • An exceptional professional with ambition and drive, who shares the Trust's values and passion for improving the lives and opportunities of children and young people
  • School/Trust experience is essential
  • A commitment to inclusion and enhancing the life chances of children, whatever their starting points
