About the Role:

We are seeking Seasonal Gardeners and Seasonal Groundstaff to join our team at The All England Lawn Tennis Club (Championships) Limited.

Job Overview:

The successful candidates will support the delivery of The Championships across all venues, including The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club Limited (Wimbledon), The All England Club Community Sports Ground (Raynes Park), The Wimbledon Qualifying and Community Sports Centre (Roehampton), Wimbledon Queue, Hospitality and surrounding areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gardening tasks such as planting, plant management, feeding, watering, weeding, clearing, pruning, strimming, blowing, and hedge cutting across all venues.
  • Groundstaff duties include assisting in the care and daily maintenance of grass courts, clay courts, hard courts, covered courts, croquet lawns, ornamental areas, and car parks.
  • Setting up courts for play, including erecting permanent and temporary netting, operating grass court covers, maintaining cups and water on courts, and moving benches.

Requirements:

  • Motivated individuals with strong levels of autonomy and ability to work within agreed guidelines.
  • RHS Level 2 Horticultural qualification or equivalent for Seasonal Gardeners.
  • Experience of operating machinery, such as forklift/MEWP, for Seasonal Gardeners.
  • Horticultural knowledge and practical experience gained in a professional environment.
  • Strong turf knowledge and qualifications, including level 2 in sports turf and PA1 and PA6A, for Seasonal Groundstaff.
  • Current full driving licence (Category B) is a condition of employment.
