Barclay Meade is seeking an experienced and inspirational leader to develop and lead a new corporate category team for Professional Services, including HR, Finance, Marketing, and ICT. This strategic position is vital in steering the direction of the organisation's procurement policies and ensuring compliance with public sector contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a new corporate category team for Professional Services, including HR, Finance, Marketing, and IT, to drive efficiency and effectiveness in procurement processes.
- Implement a category-led approach, transitioning current routes to market for improved commercial outcomes.
- Foster close relationships with the market to understand supplier capabilities and innovative contract delivery options, ensuring alignment with current legislation.
- Develop a comprehensive commercial category strategy and policy, ensuring alignment with current legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and mentor a team of approximately four direct reports, ensuring alignment with other category teams and driving high-performing team results.
- Conduct regular business and market analysis to inform future category plans, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Develop and implement new KPIs for contract management in line with Government Commercial Framework, ensuring effective contract management and compliance.
- Represent the organisation in all aspects of public sector procurement and associated commercial issues, driving stakeholder engagement and influencing commercial outcomes.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in strategic procurement project and programme management within the public sector, with a proven track record of delivering commercial outcomes.
- Fully qualified CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or equivalent experience, with a strong understanding of procurement principles and practices.
- Understanding of Public Procurement Regulations (2015 and 2023), with the ability to apply this knowledge in a commercial context.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, driving commercial outcomes and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in mentoring and developing team members, with a focus on building a strong and effective team culture.
- Experience in defining and leading commercial policy, procedures, and processes, with a focus on driving commercial outcomes and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to develop new processes and techniques to drive commercial outcomes.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and drive stakeholder engagement, driving commercial outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.
