Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of additional needs in a local primary school.

As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers to implement education plans and adapt learning materials to meet each child's unique needs.

Responsibilities and Tasks
  1. Provide individualized support to students with varying levels of need.
  2. Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement education plans.
  3. Assist with personal care, mobility, and other daily tasks as required.
  4. Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEN coordinators.
  5. Promote social and emotional development, helping students build confidence and positive relationships with their peers.
  6. Work collaboratively with other staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
Requirements
  1. Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly within an SEN setting, is essential.
  2. A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent, is preferred.
  3. Understanding of SEN best practices and strategies for supporting children with additional needs.
  4. Strong communication skills, patience, and a caring attitude.
  5. Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different school environments.
  6. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
