Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our established Nurse Specialist Team at Ipswich Hospital.
The ideal candidate will have recent IBD/gastroenterology nursing experience and a strong motivation to develop themselves and the service. They will provide clinical expertise and support to patients, their family, and carers, ensuring safe delivery and continuity of patient care by coordinating them through their patient pathway.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, liaising with healthcare teams both internal and external to the organization. They will provide an advice line service, allowing patients to access expert advice in a timely manner.
The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and experience of managing a budget. The successful candidate will be a professional role model, demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to influence and manage successfully.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical expertise and support to patients, their family, and carers.
- Ensure safe delivery and continuity of patient care by coordinating them through their patient pathway.

- Manage a budget and prioritize workload effectively.
- Registered Nurse with proven experience at Band 6.
- Evidence of implementing significant changes or service developments that promote good practice.
- Leadership course.
- Experience of relevant specialties.
- Teaching/mentorship qualification e.g. ENB 998 or equivalent.
- Evidence of continuing education.
- Relevant degree or working towards.
- Advanced Life Support provider/other course of similar caliber.
- Knowledge of current Trust-wide and Department of Health initiatives.
- Knowledge of shared governance.
- Evidence, understanding, and insight into current issues in nursing and the NHS.
- Demonstrates ability to influence and manage successfully.
- Clinical expert and role model.
- Leadership skills with evidence of staff motivation and team building.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Professional role model.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Recruitment and selection skills.
- Involvement in standard setting and audit.
- Experience with managing a budget.
