Job Purpose

The Refurbishment and Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the planning, management, and execution of all outfitting projects for a full class of MSC vessels.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize outfitting needs to maintain the assigned class of vessels in good condition.

• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure the maintenance of ship interiors.

• Lead and coordinate the overall outfitting works planned for the assigned class of vessels.

• Ensure that goals, quality, and standards are met, projects are on budget, and ship readiness is on time.

• Lead mock-up reviews and first-of-production inspections of public spaces, guest staterooms, corridors, etc.

• Coordinate modifications within technical areas with operation departments, designers, and architects.

• Report on work progress, focusing on time schedules, critical path milestones, costs, completion of inspections, and quality.

• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve problems quickly, and effectively to keep the project on track.

• Create and deliver presentations at executive level.

• Maintain good relations with internal stakeholders, including shipyard management, coordinators, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of French or Italian is a plus.

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural or Naval Architectural is preferred but not essential.

• 3 years minimum experience as Refurbishment Supervisor or Site Manager.

• Good IT skills, particularly MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD/MicroStation, and Rhino.

• Proven knowledge of SOLAS and IMO.

• Ability to read detailed design and technical drawings.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and across diverse cultures.

• 'Hands-on' management skills; possesses self-motivation with the ability to mobilize people and resources to action within a high-paced environment.

• Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

VISA Requirements

The existing right to work in the UK is preferred.
