About the Role

We are currently seeking a freelance interpreting and translation expert to join our team in Surrey. As an interpreter, you will work with various clients across different settings, including the NHS, local authorities, police, probation services, and other public and private organisations.

Established in 2001, Language Empire has been providing professional interpreting and translation services to the public and private sectors across the UK for over 20 years. Our team of experienced interpreters and translators is dedicated to delivering high-quality services that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate interpreting services for individuals using legal, health, and local government services.
  • Ensure effective communication between service users and providers by checking the non-English speaker's understanding after each sentence.
  • Conduct conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting as required.
Requirements
  • Fluent English language skills with proficiency in another language.
  • Right to work in the UK and be at least 21 years old.
  • Formal qualifications such as Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration, or a degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages.

Compensation
