About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Systems Manager to join our team at Dräger. As a key member of our Estates and Facilities function, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient development, management, operation, and support of all mechanical building services, mechanical systems, and equipment across our UK and Ireland estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning and monitoring of plant and systems, including the creation, management, and delivery of maintenance schedules.
  • Development, management, and maintenance of as-built drawings.
  • Selecting and managing competent contractors to support the delivery of specialist services.
  • Supporting the Facilities Contracts Administrator in commissioning and monitoring 3rd-party service and support contracts.
  • Working with customers and colleagues to improve safety, reliability, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Producing detailed specifications and designs considering cost, safety, and time constraints.
  • Managing projects using industry best practice principles and techniques.
  • Traveling to premises across the estate to support departmental and business objectives.

Shared Responsibilities

All employees have a responsibility to comply with our Integrated Management System (IMS) and minimize environmental impact. They must also ensure and promote safe working conditions for all employees, visitors, and contractors by implementing, monitoring, and complying with occupational health and safety provisions.

Reporting Relationships

The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Estates and Facilities UK and Ireland.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Level 4 qualification in mechanical engineering or a related subject is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of working in a facilities/building services role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Management of mechanical building services.
  • Familiarity with HP (bar+) compressed air systems.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and adhere to strict deadlines.
