Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Residential College for Younger Adults with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teaching staff to support the learning and development of our students, ensuring their safety and welfare at all times. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in achieving their Education and Healthcare plan targets
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, providing additional explanations as needed
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of students, maintaining a high standard of safeguarding
  • Facilitate participation in group activities, promoting social interactions and friendships
  • Accurately document accidents, incidents, or health & safety issues
Requirements:
  • Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in Children or Adults
  • Experience working with Younger Adults aged 16-25
  • Ideal experience within an Educational Special Needs setting
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles & Deprivation of Liberties
  • Experience managing challenging behaviours
