Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Residential College for Younger Adults with social, emotional, and mental health needs in Ferndown, Dorset.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will collaborate with teaching staff to support learning, ensuring the safety and welfare of young people and maintaining a high standard of safeguarding at all times. They will assist young people in setting and achieving their Education and Healthcare plan targets, promote positive behaviour, and accurately document all accidents, incidents, or health & safety issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support teaching staff in delivering high-quality education and care to young adults with disabilities.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, respecting their choices and encouraging social interactions and friendships.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized Education and Healthcare plans.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the overall well-being of the college community.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in Children or Adults.
  • Experience working with Younger Adults aged 16-25.
  • Ideal experience within an Educational Special Needs setting.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles & Deprivation of Liberties.
  • Ability to engage students in positive, enabling relationships.
