Job Title: Maintenance Engineer - Equipment Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Newport. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous running of our production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned and reactive engineering activities on-site, ensuring the efficient operation of our equipment.
  • Work on various types of equipment, including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
  • Collaborate with operatives and Team Leaders from both maintenance and production to ensure effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
Requirements:
  • Apprentice-trained Engineer to NVQ level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of 3 Phase Motors and Variable speed Drives, with experience in electrical fault finding and defect rectification.
  • Good understanding of current environmental, health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
