Electrical Maintenance Engineer Opportunity

Location: Newport

Salary: £43,000

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Newport. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for identifying and resolving equipment failures, performing routine maintenance tasks, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough investigations to diagnose equipment failures and implement effective solutions.
  2. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements, to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  3. Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve long-term engineering issues.
  4. Utilize maintenance management systems to locate spare parts and track work completed.
  5. Collect and return spare parts to storage facilities.
  6. Identify and address electrical equipment failure modes to prevent future issues.
  7. Obtain maintenance schedules from maintenance management systems and provide feedback on completed work.
  8. Record work completed using notifications and maintain accurate records.
  9. Participate in preventive maintenance routines, including:
    1. Working collaboratively with other maintenance engineers to ensure planned preventative maintenance is completed in line with scheduling.
Requirements
  1. Significant experience in a multi-skilled maintenance engineer role within manufacturing.
  2. Strong drive, enthusiasm, and self-motivation with ability to motivate others.
  3. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  4. Accurate and timely reporting skills.
  5. Completion of an apprenticeship as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer.
  6. Working knowledge of good engineering practices.
  7. NVQ level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent City & Guilds or HNC) or equivalent.
