About Knowles Logistics
Knowles Logistics is a leading provider of warehousing and distribution services, trusted by some of the biggest and well-known businesses in the country. We offer a broad range of services, combining the infrastructure and scalability of a multi-national third-party logistics company with the flexibility, agility, and dedication to customer care of a family-run business.
Main Purpose of the Role
- To be a key part of the warehouse administration team and support the Area Managers and Warehouse Manager in the smooth running of the entire warehouse function.
- To ensure all business requirements and customer requests related to administrative activities are carried out in full as required.
- To ensure accuracy and availability of stocks within the warehouse by following all operational processes and procedures correctly relevant on the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- To work cohesively with all other support functions within the wider operation and carry out any other tasks as reasonably requested by the business.
Key Responsibilities
- General Duties
- Highlighting the need for labour for any re-work required (if applicable to site).
- Allocating booking slots for the inbound diary when booking requests are received.
- Prepare goods in notes and labels in advance for next days' deliveries.
- Print and scan any paperwork for relevant internal and external customer use.
- Assist with checking and labelling of inbound loads (if applicable to site).
- Build and allocate loads on Roadrunner.
- Complete all inbound and outbound system transactions in a correct and timely manner.
- Supporting with customer visits and be approachable to answer any questions.
- Raise and complete any transfer orders as needed.
- Follow up any delays of inbound deliveries and escalate any issues as needed.
- Follow up any transport delays of outbound collections and escalate any issues as needed.
- Escalate any delays with order picking to avoid collection delays or failures.
- Archive and store paperwork at COP each week ensuring it is available and audit ready if requested.
- Communication
- Cross functional contact to resolve any queries or problem that may arise.
- Responding to and dealing with both internal and external customer communication by email and telephone and in person.
- Provide any performance data and KPI's to the management team as requested.
- Teamwork
- Encouraging teamwork within the workplace by displaying the correct behaviours towards all members of the Knowles Logistics Ltd teams.
- Provide ASH cover (absence, sickness and holiday) as required by the business.
- Assist the warehouse operatives with any queries.
- Health & Safety
- Maintain compliance with the site H&S standards at all times.
- Attend relevant training courses.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment by performing general housekeeping where necessary.
- Ensure that all lifting and moving of products are carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
- Support the safety culture by completing near miss forms when a relevant observation is made.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Excellent written, numeracy and accurate data entry skills.
- Good time keeping and highly organised.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literate with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Be motivated and practical-thinking.
- Strong Team Player with good interpersonal skills.
- Must have own transportation to work.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- 1 years' experience of working in a warehouse environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to work overtime when needed.
- Understanding of inbound / outbound supply chain processes.
