About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at a Secondary School in Thurrock. This full-time role offers a temporary to permanent contract and is perfect for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of students who require additional support.

As an HLTA, you will play a key role in providing classroom support and leading small group interventions to help students with behavioural, emotional, and social challenges engage with their learning. This position offers excellent opportunities for professional development and the chance to work in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom support to students in an Alternative Provision setting.
  • Lead small group activities and interventions to support learning and behaviour management.
  • Assist in planning and preparing lessons with teaching staff.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and staff.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) is preferred.
  • Experience working with students in an Alternative Provision or similar setting is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies.
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
