The Department: Nifty Gateway

Nifty Gateway Studio brings together artists and their communities through Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). We collaborate with today's leading creative minds to push the boundaries of human experiences through extraordinary on-chain experiences. Founded by Duncan and Griffin Cock Foster in 2018, Nifty Gateway was acquired by Gemini in 2019, with the belief that blockchain technology has the power to fundamentally change the art world.

The Role: Cloud Architect

This role involves defining technical direction, unblocking, and mentoring teammates to tackle complex system and architectural challenges. As a Cloud Architect, you will have broad impact across other engineering teams and be distinguished by your organization-level impact and focus on high-leverage activity.

Responsibilities:

  • Influence leadership and collaborate with Principal Engineers to build the right software architecture for Nifty Gateway.
  • Design, implement, deploy, and maintain cloud-based services supporting multiple engineering teams.
  • Advocate and model technical excellence.
  • Drive large cross-group initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess 8-10 years of software development experience, with 5 years of in-depth experience with distributed systems or cloud computing. Proficiency in AWS native technologies, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible is also required. Additionally, you should have experience building and owning low-latency, high-availability critical systems or cloud-based services.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior expertise in event-driven architecture, instrumentation, observability, and monitoring would be beneficial. Experience with container and orchestration technologies, such as Kubernetes and EKS, is also preferred. Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases is also advantageous.
