About the Role

As a Support Practitioner with Highland Home Carers, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered care and support to individuals with varying degrees of learning and physical disabilities.

Your duties will involve supporting individuals within their own homes, assisting with personal tasks such as personal care, medication management, and meal preparation. You will also enable them to enjoy a wide range of activities, including social outings, walks, and family visits.

We are committed to delivering high-quality care and support, and we require our Support Practitioners to be dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of our service users.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to work, and a willingness to commit to person-centered support. A Full UK Driving License is essential, and access to Early Pay and paid training opportunities is available.

In return, you can expect a competitive salary of £13.50 per hour, plus £0.50 per hour overtime rate when working over full-time hours. Other benefits include access to company pool cars, contributory pension scheme, and Employee Assistance Scheme.

Main Duties:

  • Become registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within the required timeframe and demonstrate good standards of work practice in accordance with the National Care Standards and SSSC's Code of Practice.
  • Assist individuals with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Manage prescribed medication and maintain records as required.
  • Ensure that the handling of finances and money is in accordance with HHC policies and procedures.
  • Support individuals to budget effectively and meet the costs of their chosen social, educational, or leisure activities.
