We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Glaucoma Consultant to join our dynamic team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Ophthalmology department, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with glaucoma, working closely with our existing consultant and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of patients with glaucoma, providing expert diagnosis, treatment, and care.
- Work collaboratively with junior doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of our glaucoma service, including the expansion of surgical options and community services.
- Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
- Provide educational and training opportunities for junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Entry on the Specialist Register (or entry expected within 6 months)
- FRCOphth or Equivalent qualification
- Experience in managing junior doctors and leading specialist services
- Ability to offer expert opinion in glaucoma management and surgical treatment options
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
