Job Title: Facilities Electrician

A leading food manufacturing business in the Glasgow area is seeking a skilled Facilities Electrician to join their team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Electrician to assume responsibility for the electrical integrity of our industrial and domestic sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and testing all electrical equipment, maintaining electrical wiring, and improving and upgrading electrical systems as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the electrical wiring of the site, ensuring it is safe and efficient.
  • Improve and upgrade electrical systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Take the lead in equipment installations, ensuring they are installed correctly and meet safety standards.
  • Maintain site schematic and circuit charts, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Assist in maintaining engineering stores, identifying parts and requisitioning replacements as needed.
  • Ensure stores booking in and out procedures are followed, maintaining accurate records.
  • Responsible for ensuring current practices meet Health and Safety and Food Safety standards, and where possible, exceed requirements.
  • Assist shift maintenance engineers as needed, providing support and guidance.
  • Provide training, support, and guidance to electrical engineer apprentices.
Requirements
  • Formal engineering qualification to at least City and Guilds level, ONC/HNC level or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2391 certificate is desirable but not essential.
  • Recognised apprenticeship.
