About the Role:

We are collaborating with a prominent food production company in South Lanarkshire that is seeking a dedicated Shift Maintenance Technician.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational integrity of machinery and deliver comprehensive engineering support under the guidance of the Engineering Team Leaders and Chief Engineer.
  • Engage in planned and preventative maintenance, enhancing PPM strategies wherever feasible.
  • Address machinery malfunctions to guarantee optimal production line efficiency.
  • Assist in managing the engineering inventory by identifying necessary components and submitting requisition forms for repairs and stock replenishment.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations, striving to exceed established standards.


Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a formal engineering qualification at least at City and Guilds level, ONC/HNC level, or equivalent, or have substantial experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing setting.


Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with the maintenance of contemporary processing plant machinery is advantageous.
  • Experience with food processing equipment is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing tools, interpreting schematic diagrams, and experience with single and three-phase installations, including motors, inverters, and PLCs (experience with PLCs is desirable but not essential).
  • Competence in mechanical fitting/fabrication and related tools, such as milling machines and welding equipment (desirable but not essential).
