About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Officer to join our team at the Scottish Prison Service. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and secure supervision of individuals in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Encourage positive behaviors in individuals through supportive and inclusive approaches, promoting rehabilitation and reintegration initiatives.
  • Contribute to the prevention and management of challenging behaviors, demonstrating fairness and consistency in building positive relationships with individuals in custody.
  • Manage individual case work, exercising professional judgment in responding to needs and challenges, and identifying changes in physical and mental health.
  • Complete administrative tasks, including processing and analyzing information, and producing high-quality reports and records.
  • Contribute to effective operational risk management, ensuring the safe and secure supervision of individuals in our care.
  • Manage conflict and contribute to local incident management, using established techniques to recognize and manage the impact of challenging behaviors.
