Job Summary

The Church of England is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Head of Safeguarding. This is a critical position that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of safeguarding practices and policies.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Safeguarding will be responsible for leading the diocesan safeguarding team and working closely with the Diocesan Bishop, Archdeacons, and other senior clergy to support and develop safeguarding practices and culture across the diocese. This will include working with the Dean of Derby, the Cathedral Chapter, and other key Cathedral staff to uphold the Partnership Agreement between the Cathedral and the Diocese.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing the diocesan response to quality assurance and audit processes, ensuring that appropriate learning and reflective practice takes place across the diocese, and leading the Safeguarding Team through effective management, mentoring, and coaching.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safeguarding and a proven track record of leadership and management. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
