Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design and build of various projects in the South-East of England, primarily in the commercial sector.

About the Role:

As the Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be reporting to the Director and will be responsible for managing a small team of Design Engineers and CAD Technicians. Your primary focus will be on implementing and agreeing design programs, reviewing and dissecting mechanical design documentation, and leading design meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement design programs to ensure timely completion of projects
  2. Review and analyze mechanical design documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
  3. Lead design meetings with internal and external stakeholders to set goals and agree solutions
  4. Collaborate with the pre-construction team to ensure budgets are adhered to
  5. Develop and issue requests for information (RFIs) to external partners
  6. Ensure that health & safety procedures are fully adhered to

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in the commercial sector. You should have excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and lead design meetings. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.

What We Offer:

Salary for this role will be between £70,000 and £85,000, depending on experience. You will also have the opportunity to work with a company that is poised for growth and offers a dynamic and challenging work environment.
