Job Title: Transport Shift Manager

Location: Portbury, GB

We are seeking a skilled Transport Shift Manager to join our team in Portbury. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of day-to-day transport operations, ensuring a smooth-running operation and supporting the Transport Operation Manager with various tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and friendly working environment for all employees, agency, and subcontractors.
  • Own the recruitment, induction, absence management, well-being meetings, and 121s process within the transport department.
  • Ensure effective communication within the transport teams through meetings and briefings.
  • Responsible for delivering operational KPIs and maintaining performance levels to maximize efficiency of operation in line with account KPIs.

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience of a transport function within the FMCG Distribution Industry.
  • A background operating at a management level is a must.
  • Transport CPC – desirable.
  • A passion for encouraging teamwork and creating an innovative culture where all employees can voice their suggestions and ideas.
  • Excellent team management skills for developing your team.
  • An analytical mindset.
  • Flexibility to cover a variety of shift patterns in the future.
  • You'll come into contact with Trade Unions (previous experience with this would be beneficial).
